Entry #8 - Black Thursday?

Hey guys! I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. I know my bank account is definitely going to be at 0 here real soon and real quick. I have a few gifts for my family and I am making a gift for my boyfriend, so hopefully I am on the right track to get everyone an awesome gift. The only person I am having a hard time shopping for is my second oldest sister. She is one of the pickiest people I know, so I will have fun with that. Enough about me, it is not even Thanksgiving and I am already stressing about Christmas. Is the holiday season coming too early????

I was hearing Christmas music before Thanksgiving, and I was thinking that it is way too early. I work at a mall. I am not going to tell you which mall for privacy reasons, but this mall put up Christmas decorations BEFORE Halloween. Like I personally believe that that is ridiculous! These businesses are moving too quickly into the holiday seasons.

Black Friday is one of the best examples of this. Black Friday is the time of year when people buy Christmas gifts at an awesome deal. Also, it is the after Thanksgiving. Probably the best deal of the year on specific items. Especially items that are hundreds of dollars. Now this is a special holiday, for businesses. They make thousands of dollars in just one store, and the company makes millions, if not billions of dollars. Typically Black Friday starts on Friday at anytime of the day. Most businesses start at midnight, or a few hours earlier than the regular hours. They do this because people can be so eager to get the best of the best deals. People have gotten so eager that they line up hours before the store opens up. Which brings me to my main topic. Is black friday starting too early? Businesses have been slowly pushing their opening time into Thursday. Its ruining Thanksgiving!!!

People spend less than 24 hours to be grateful for what they have, then become greedy for 3 days after! You have Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and the Cyber Monday. These are all days that revolve around money. How is that ok? That's because society has made it acceptable. We as people find it okay to now drop $200 at a store to give others gifts, but that has also made it a very dangerous holiday. In recent years you've always been able to watch the news the day after and hear about the person who pepper sprayed a crowd to get the last Barbie, or the person that got ran over because people were rushing into the store and no one bothered to help them get up. People have a competitive nature and it's only gotten worse during this holiday of shopping.

My job required me to be at work at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. That ruined my Thanksgiving. I was livid. Now, think of the thousand others who had to work on their Thanksgiving and couldn't enjoy time with their family. It is becoming ridiculous. I feel bad and sad (which rhyme) for everyone who had to work. My blessings go out to you.

Anyways! Let me know on what you think about the Holidays. Are they coming too early? Also, let me know if you went Black Friday shopping this year! I would love to hear your experience and how you tackled the crowds. Be safe during this holiday season and don't forget to create some english!
