Entry #6 - Exercising
Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well, maybe even getting some better sleep (wink wink). I certainly haven't been getting better sleep, but that's also because my job is asking me to stay until 3:30 a.m. I certainly don't hate them for making me stay, I am getting paid well, but not enough to be doing that!! Other than not going to bed on time, I have tried to do other items that I had suggested on my "tiredness" blog, exercise.
I had recently gotten a gym membership to try to be more active since I am no longer in school related sports. I had noticed my eating habits were getting bad, and that I started to feel very sluggish and had no motivation to get up early, or even at all. It started to wear me out and I wasn't even doing anything... Why workout??? Not only does it improve your health by staying fit, it allows your body to rid of all the unwanted toxins inside the body. Usually from what you eat and drink. Other cases of unwanted toxins can be what your body creates naturally, which can build up over time and lead to serious endangerments.
Also, you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a membership you use once a month! That would be outrageous and not even worth it. I can almost guarantee you have time. I'm sure some of you out there binge watch a whole show on Netflix in 2-5 days... That is so much of your personal time right there. Do you take naps? Boom. Time spent lounging around, making it worse on your bodies health.

On the other hand, you think of how expensive a membership can be... I know, I personally pay around $30 for mine and that is with a student discount. If I didn't have the discount, I would probably be paying around $45. That is ridiculous, but there are so many gyms out there to choose from that can give you a really good rate. The smallest student rate I have seen is $10. That is amazing, but I am also the type of person who is not self motivated and need to be pushed, therefore I got the same gym membership as my best friend. If you don't like going to the gym by yourself find a buddy. Someone who is willing to go with you, push you, and ultimately be there for you even when some exercises look ridiculous. Also, you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a membership you use once a month! Why Go to the Gym?
Although it may be hard to be self motivated, when I do work out it feels good. I know that it is helping my body become more fit and healthy. Purify the organs within the body, because sometimes we indulge ourselves in sugary products that can be 110% sugar... I know that is impossible, but believe in the impossible. Some people even think exercise is painful. It works out the muscles that have been at rest for so long. They need to be challenged just think you mind does everyday. A common quote is "No pain, no gain". That is such a powerful statement in itself, that can be used in so many different occasions. That is beside the point, exercise can help you combat so many obstacles in your life...Specific obstacles include:
- Self Concious
- Sluggish
- Weight
- Current Health Problems
If any of those speak to your personally I would start to think about how to overcome these obstacles.
Pinterest, the app has a lot of great workouts that are done inside the home.
Also suggest going to the gym and trying it out for a week. You can go into any local gyms and I can almost guarantee that they have free trials for you to test out the gym. Find room in your schedule to see what happens. I'm not saying that it will be a drastic life changing decision. I am just saying see how you feel after a weeks worth of exercise. You don't even have to get a gym membership. You can easily find exercises to do at home. I know

Overall, I am not saying you absolutely have to get a gym membership, I am just saying that I know what it is like to be overwhelmed and sluggish during my days. Going to the gym and getting an hours worth of exercise has helped me with my mood and energy level especially. It is certainly just an option to try. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and don't forget to create some english!
I definitely agree with this statement. I am a server so I work weird, long hours that affect my schedule greatly. I thought getting a gym membership would be futile because I simply have no time, however, it was one of the best things I could've ever done. Not only does it make me feel good about my body, but it makes me feel responsible and in control. I also appreciate the pinterest plug. I would've never thought to check there and I've already found some great, simple work outs.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this i mean school and work take up to much time and why have to go to a gym and spend money when you can work out at home a little on your free time.
ReplyDeleteClaire--You have done some really nice work on your new blog entries. Interesting topics and good development and discussion. You are aware of rhetoric and working to engage your reader with significant thoughts and connection, as well as visual appeal and engagement. Great job. Keep it up.
