Entry #1 - Blogging Thoughts
Hey guys! I know I have already introduced myself, but I wanted to let you know more about myself and my personal opinion of blogs. When I first hear the word "blog", I become bored and almost annoyed. I am used to seeing the personal blogs and I just don't like them... If I don't know you, personally, I don't care about your personal life. If you talk about issues that affect more people other than yourself, then yes I would love to hear about it! There are so many blogs out there that I didn't even know were "blogs". I read them all the time and the only reason I read them is because I didn't know they were blogs to begin with. They weren't personal and it was something interesting or relatable to more people other than friends and family.
Talking about the blogs that I didn't even know were blogs, I'll talk about my personal favorites and why I love them.
Mashable - Mashable is an amazing blog. This blog talks very little about facts and include more opinionated articles. It has an article talking about the 6 scariest movies of all time... Well that is definitely is opinionate, because what I find scary would be very different from others. I am not a scary movie person. Frankly, I hate them and I am a huge wimp... I have to watch a scary movie in the middle of the day with all the light from outside shining in. Plus who knows what movies they take into account... Anyways, they have a bunch of different entries out there that can potentially be on your mind or that is completely out of the blue. All around, I like the blogs website, but definitely it's more opinionated within the posts.
Ikea Hackers - This might just be the greatest blog I found... If you think I'm kidding around, I not. I was just trying to find a new blog, one that I haven't seen before and came across this amazing blog. Ikea is one of my all time favorite furniture stores ever. It is a swedish based company, so all the names on the products are impossible to say, unless you know how to read it. It's huge too! The one that is in Chandler, Arizona is the location that I always go to and it is two stories with thousands of products. Anyways back to the blog, it is on how to reuse the ikea furniture or even hacks on how to build off of the furniture. It's so useful and anyone could look at how to improve a desk. It may not be interesting to those that hate getting their hands dirty, but if you're like me and love interior design or do it yourself (DIY) projects, you will love this blog.
Unfortunately not all blogs you find you will like... If it's not interesting you won't read it... Straight up, you won't read what is not interesting to YOU.
The Huffington Post - This blog is different because it is real. When I say real, I am talking about the realistic side of life. It talks about news going on in politics, celebrities, and news for everyday people. It is insightful and can be for everyone. If you are into celebrity news, which I know there are many, there are a lot of stories covering divorces, newest couples, deep topics such as sexual harassment. It covers governmental issues. This affects everyone in the country because the government related to schools all the way to adults paying taxes. It makes me sad to a sense knowing this is where the world is at. It doesn't hide the truth and tries to reveal the truth as much as possible to the people. There might be a little bit of humor in a few articles, but it won't be humorous when discussing Health Care issues. Again, they do have humor posts but it's in a different area... It almost seems inconsistent? This blog site can be for everyone, but you could run across a humorous post and a serious post on the same page...
Alright, thanks guys for reading! I love hearing feedback and would love to know about your personal favorites. If you haven't read blogs before go into a search engine such as Google and type in blogs. Take a look around and see what you can find! I'm excited to hear back from you guys and what you find interesting! Don't forget to create some english.
